Welcome to Tasiilaq Visit to the cemetery Two feminine soccer teams are fighting for the Tasiilaq cup We can't escape from the children attacks No comment

Our first steps on the icecap above Nagtiviit Fjord are...

on an ice that is too hard to ski but the first... 6km are easy with such a perfect weather! Our first camp. On day 2 the icefield begin to change... there is more and more water... and the ground becomes very irregular...
to end up with crevasses. Real difficulties begin... and culminate with the rain. We are stuck under our tents for 2 entire days... reading and playing cards On the second evening, rain starts to decrease...
so we decide to go on. We walk until it's to dark to see The next day, we decide to come back. We enjoy for the first time a bit of skiing... through crevasses and puddle pools. After a short pause...
we continue in the direction    of ... the big crevasses field. We spend 5 hours to do... 2 km!! The first breaks begin... our moral is challenged...
but we finally come out of it The next day, we reach the sea... ready for a new adventure: Part 2 -  Kayaking. Our starting point is a hunting house. We do a first test on a rainy day...

and then leave for the wild.

We use 2-places kayaks... and choose nice sceneries for our camps. We spend some days in the Sermiligaq region... to explore the neighbouring glaciers... and fjord.
It's a concert of cracks... and despite the relatively bad weather we have the chance to witness some beautiful scenery. Sometimes we stretch our legs by climbing a little mountain. The camp are on relatively dry ground...
so we are able to dry... our stuff when the sun shines. We do a short stop in an abandoned US army base to... witness the price of  the dis-respectful imperialism of USA. We continue to paddle... in narrow fjords
and choose to cross a narrow... channel only navigable at high tide... to reach the greenlandic village of Kummit. From there, we enjoy a beautiful day kayaking among amazing and beautiful icebergs.
We enjoy the sun and... scenery. Time flies to fast: it's already our last camp... before a stormy last fjord crossing... to reach Kulusuk and its tireless...

army of children. THE END
